2. Objectives
The topic focuses on the following main objectives:
- Creating a Chinese learning environment for Chinese language students the School of Foreign Languages-Thai Nguyen University.
- Providing and supporting lecturers some information and methods related to curriculum development, scientific research, evaluation method, and extra-curriculum activities for students.
- Designing the website as an aid for students, through which some extra-curriculum activities are built to support self-study and create a useful and healthy playground for Chinese majors at the School of Foreign Languages, Thai Nguyen University.
- Forming a reference database for teachers and students in the process of studying and teaching Chinese at the School of Foreign Languages - Thai Nguyen University.
3. Creativeness and innovativeness
The topic is comprehensive, including a necessary provision of such urgent aspects to teachers as how to compile textbooks, how to do research, how to construct item banks, and how to organize extra-curriculum activities for students
Teachers and students are supplied with an inclusive e-learning system that covers fully issues in Chinese language such as Chinese characters, grammar, vocabulary, Chinese for communication; Chinese culture; Learning resources; Student activity; scientific research. Supporting efficiently students’ study and research activities, these materials are free to use and accessible to students anywhere and anytime.
Designed lively an attractively, the website’s contents, especially the web-based products made by Chinese-majoring students themselves are continuously updated. The website then will be made widely available to the whole students and teachers in the School of Foreign Languages so that students can mutually refer and learn from each other, bringing more motivation and interests for students.
Through the website, it is possible to create an extra-curriculum environment for Chinese majors who can express themselves through film making, conversation situations, broadcasting, and editing, storytelling, playing master of ceremony (M.C), and tour guide. Students can also enjoy reading their own good articles and all other students have the opportunity to exchange and learn from the updated data on the website.
The website also provides open learning resources such as news, reports, funny stories, good movies or good songs for teachers and students to access before and after class-time.
4. Research results
Creating a website with abundant contents and knowledge necessary for students, effectively supporting the learning of students beyond class time and information capture of teachers about the student's situation and information related to scientific research.
Creating an effective learning environment through a variety of extra-curriculum activities for Chinese language students; students can learn the language through fun playing and vice versa; therefore, students can enjoy the innovation, and uniqueness, enhancing their excitement in the learning process. By dint of surveys and questionnaire, the website has received many positive feedback from the students and teachers.
Providing a variety of content that will benefit the professionalism and scientific research of the teacher.
